2014 Business of the Year United Companies trophy

On September 10, 2014, The Chamber of Commerce of Southwest Indiana selected United Companies as the 2014 Norman P. Wagner Businessof the Year Winner. United Companies was chosen for this prestigious award by meeting the detailed criteria including building its capital investment in Southwest Indiana, community participation reflecting a profound regard for citizens in the area and making an overall difference in the quality of life in our region. Cadillac CTS named Motor Trend Car of the Year

The redesigned Cadillac CTS has been named Car of the Year by Motor Trend magazine, a top industry honor.

The new CTS is larger than the previous version, but retains the rear-wheel-drive design and performance that made it popular with critics.

Romain to Lead 2013 Higher Education Capital Campaign

Ronald Romain, CEO of United Companies in Evansville, Indiana, recently announced his involvement in the University of Southern Indiana Capital Campaign by serving as Campaign Chairman. With his on-going interest in public education, Mr. Romain agreed to spearhead the financial challenge of raising $50,000,000 to help further educational opportunities at USI.

Ronald and Connie Romain jointly have pledged their personal financial commitment in hopes of stimulating additional donations from other individuals. Because of the Romains’ support, the University has announced the naming of the College of Business in the family name.

“Connie and I remain devoted to the importance of higher education. Both of us benefited from our experiences in the public school system, especially at USI. I know our college education would likely not have been possible were it not for USI in our community. What so many individuals sacrificed for us now require our family to give back and create educational opportunities for others.”
